Bank of Commerce and Peoples Bank announced on Monday, March 30, that they have changed their name to Carson Community Bank. The Bank of Commerce was founded in 1931 by C.J. Carson, and the Carson Family acquired Peoples Bank in 1995. Both banks have been owned and operated by the Carson Family.

“We’ve been working toward combining the banks for some time,” says Drew T. Carson, President of Carson Community Bank. “When combining the banks we didn’t want one community’s bank name to replace the other, so we decided to unify the banks under a new common name.”

Over the next few months they’ll be updating their signage at their branches and where the Bank of Commerce and Peoples Bank have been represented in the community. While their name and logo have changed, they remain a locally-owned bank committed to building a better community through their bank branches and philanthropic efforts.

“This evolution provided us an opportunity to put pen to paper on our mission and core values. We’ve always been a mission driven business and operated according to our values, so we decided to formalize them,” says Adriana Carson Scott, Chief Brand Officer of Carson Community Bank. “We are a family owned business that exists to elevate individuals, businesses, and our communities. We are connected, courageous, compassionate, and committed. Our customers, friends, and neighbors will be hearing more about our mission and core values in the coming weeks.”

Even in the midst of a pandemic the bank stayed the course in announcing their name. Drew T. Carson said, “We let customers know we were merging the banks and that we might change our name last fall, so this announcement has been in the works for a while. We were founded in an era of adversity, the Great Depression, and we will continue to face down any adversity that comes our way.” The bank stands ready to help customers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers that have experienced a financial hardship are encouraged to reach out to their loan officer or call 918-696-7745 to be connected with a banker.
