FBI, local law enforcement search for missing boy

Michael Macdougal, 15, has been missing since Thursday, Dec. 10. Please call 918 696-2106

An Adair County teenager has been missing since last week.

Michael Macdougal, 15, was last seen walking away from his home in the Bell community on Thursday, Dec. 10 around 8 a.m. He is white, 5-foot-9, with strawberry-blond hair. When he left home last Thursday, he was wearing a black sweatshirt, white sweatpants and hiking boots.

“We were contacted at 6:47 p.m. by his mom, Anne Cline,” said Adair County Sheriff Jason Ritchie.

Macdougal lives with his mom and stepdad, whose name was not available. His dad is deceased.

It’s an odd situation as to why he would want to leave, said Ritchie.

"There’s no evidence of fighting by the parents or no girlfriend," he said.

The sheriff’s department conducted a very thorough search of the area, said Ritchie.

“We also called in a horseback search-and-rescue unit from Sequoyah county to cover the area,” Ritchie said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been contacted and agents are assisting.

The teen has no history of being in trouble with the law.

“He’s never been in trouble. He’s a very good kid,” Ritchie said.

There was an unconfirmed sighting in Westville.

“We believe he left of his own accord,” Ritchie said.

The investigation will continue until the youth is located. Contact the Adair County Sheriff’s Department with any information leading to the location of the teen, by calling 918-696-2106.
