Local donkey to be on stamps

The Garrett's late grandson Dozer Beaver, who truly enjoyed riding on Sharpy while both were here on their farm.

On May 17, 2021 the United States Postal Service will be releasing the Heritage Breeds stamps.  Among the stamps will be a picture of a donkey named Oklahoma Sharpy that came from Bill, Gina and Becca Garrett’s farm, Garrett Mammoth Jackstock, in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

Sharpy was sold to some friends in Guilford, Connecticut, Kimberly Brockett, Mike Cappelli and their son Drew. The photographer, Aliza Eliazarov came to their farm from New York City to photograph their donkeys. In her book, On the Farm Heritage & Heralded Animal Breeds in Portraits & Stories, Sharpy is pictured.

“Pictured here is our late grandson, Dozer Beaver, who truly enjoyed riding on Sharpy while both were here on our farm,” said Garrett.
