Sample ballots are now available for the June 28 election. Voters can download a sample ballot using the State Election Board’s OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp or pick up a copy at the Adair County Election Board during normal business hours.

Cherokee Nation Waste Management and Adair County Litter-Free and Green have partnered  to serve Adair County with a Free Trash-Off Day on Saturday, May 21.

In 1948, the Stilwell Kiwanis Club decided the host the first Strawberry Festival as a fun activity for the town and to promote local businesses. That's still true today, with the 75th annual Diamond Jubilee Strawberry Festival set for May 13-14.

As the decades roll by, the Strawberry Festival continues to provide a big parade, crown a queen, and serve free strawberries and ice cream. Over time, it has grown to be a major event in the state, and is the longest, continuous festival in Oklahoma.

The year was 1948 when Kiwanis Club members sought to make Stilwell the Strawberry Heart of Oklahoma. That was the year the Strawberry Festival was born.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3698 and American Legion, Post 0186 will be conducting a flag retirement ceremony on June 11 at 10 a.m.  at the Memorial site across the street from the football field on Buffington Street.
